Vibeke Hammer Madsen is a well-recognized business leader in Scandinavia with extensive executive management experience across many economic sectors. Most recently, Ms. Madsen served for 16 years as the CEO of Virke Enterprise Federation of Norway, an organization comprised of 24,000 companies and institutions employing 230,000 people with a focus on promoting legislation and regulation to create a strong and innovative business environment in Norway. Prior to taking the helm at Virke, Ms. Madsen was a partner with PA Consulting Group, a global company specializing in strategy, technology, and innovation for public and private sector clients in healthcare and life sciences, the consumer and retail industries, financial services and energy and utilities. Ms. Madsen has held several directorship positions throughout her career and is currently serving on the boards of Diakonhjemmet, a non-profit foundation engaged in healthcare, education, and social services; Storebrand Livsforsikring AS, a leading financial services company with activities primarily centered on life insurance and pension funds; and Norfund, the Norwegian Investment Fund for developing countries. Ms. Madsen serves also as a Norwegian government appointee to the Nordic Council, the official body for inter-parliamentary cooperation between the eight Nordic countries.
