Pedro Piqueras

Pedro Piqueras is an experienced professional with a robust background in environmental science and engineering. Currently serving as a Program Supervisor at South Coast Air Quality Management District since July 2017, Pedro leads the development and implementation of AB 617 Community Emission Reduction Plans while coordinating technical analyses and outreach efforts. Previous roles include Air Quality Specialist focused on health effects and environmental justice initiatives, Researcher and Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Riverside, and Environmental Research Scientist at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in South Africa. Pedro's experience also encompasses science journalism and academic tutoring, complemented by a PhD in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Riverside and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from California Baptist University.
