Richard S.

Richard S. has extensive experience in water management and engineering, currently serving as the SFWMD SAP Section Administrator at the South Florida Water Management District since May 2006. In this role, Richard oversees database and data management solutions within the SAP S/4HANA platform, facilitating data-driven decision-making for business owners. Previously, Richard held the position of Process & Project Controls Section Administrator, managing the agency's project portfolio and performance improvement system. Prior to joining the South Florida Water Management District, Richard was the Hydraulic Section Manager at Sverdrup and Jacobs Engineering, Inc., assisting with the $8.4 billion Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan. Richard's career also includes service as a Major in the US Army Corps of Engineers, where responsibilities encompassed operations, construction, and engineering management. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University.
