Terry Wells

Wells, a Phoenix resident, was appointed to the SSC Board of Trustees in 2001. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Board’s Legislative Committee and represents SSC as a legislative liaison in Springfield through the Illinois Community College Trustee Association. Terry’s goals include working with local high schools to inform them about the wealth of programs and support services available at SSC, and increasing student enrollment.

Married with two children, Wells is employed as a history teacher at Thornton High School. He also serves as President of the Village of Phoenix, a position he has held since 1993. In addition to his other roles, Trustee Wells also served as past President of the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association.

As per IL Public Act 099-0692, Wells successfully completed Trustee Leadership Training.
