James Bryce Settles is a Community Engagement Intern at the Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute, starting in October 2024. Prior experience includes roles as a Laboratory Automation Consultant at Exagen Inc. from May 2023 to December 2023 and Curative from February 2022 to May 2023, where responsibilities included deploying exploratory data analysis and developing software for automated liquid handlers. At Thermo Fisher Scientific, from November 2019 to February 2022, James served as a Scientist- Automation Specialist, innovating high-throughput clinical laboratory processes. A Research Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University from January 2019 to June 2019, James focused on studying air quality through particulate matter measurements. James holds a Master's in Public Health with a concentration in Biostatistics & Epidemiology from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Pre-Med from Virginia Commonwealth University, where a minor in Chemistry was also completed.
