Emery Wright is co-director of Project South, an Atlanta-based movement-building organization that was founded under the name Institute for the Elimination of Poverty and Genocide. Wright is active in youth development and organizing and is the founder of “Youth Speak Truth Radio,” a youth-led program on public affairs. Wright is also the founder of the Nia Project, a Black youth development organization begun in 1998 and active from Boston to Atlanta. As Project South co-director, Wright continues to implement movement-building action through local, regional and global outreach.
