José Luis Carrizo Martínez

José Luis Carrizo Martínez serves as the CIO for B2B at Virgin Media O2 since July 2021, responsible for technology supporting B2B customers. Simultaneously, José holds positions on the Board Audit Committee for Tesco Mobile and serves as an advisor to Brunel University London’s Institute of Digital Futures and Zipabout. José previously led M&A IT integration at O2 (Telefónica UK) and has extensive experience at Vodafone, where roles included Head of Big Data Delivery & Operations, Head of Application Services, and Head of Connectivity Services, among others. José’s early work at 3GPP included chairing the GERAN Working Group 2 focused on GSM/GPRS/EDGE standardization. Educational background includes degrees in Telematics and Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad de Zaragoza and Universidad de Valladolid, respectively.
