Thomas Farmer

Thomas Farmer is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in advocacy and government relations, currently serving as Vice President of Advocacy at Southface Institute since March 2024. Previously, Thomas directed special initiatives at the Georgia Forestry Commission, spearheading the agency's response to a state audit. As co-founder and co-owner of Second Century Ag LLC, Thomas established Georgia's first hemp processing company, transitioning from agricultural processing to the CBD market. Thomas held the position of Director of Government Relations at The Nature Conservancy for 15 years, developing critical relationships and legislative initiatives to support conservation goals. Early career roles included Director of Special Projects at Habitat for Humanity International and various advance staff positions during Al Gore's political campaigns. Educational credentials include a Master's in Public Affairs from The LBJ School of Public Affairs and a Bachelor's degree in History from Hampden-Sydney College.
