James Charles

James Charles, PE, currently serves as Assistant Director of Contract Administration at Southland Holdings LLC, following a progression of roles including Project Manager and Project Engineer at Johnson Bros Corporation since 2014. Responsibilities include overseeing significant projects such as the SR 5 / US 1 / Long Key Bridge V-Piers Replacement and the Design Build Replacement of the Bridges of Isle of Palms and Capri, with a focus on drilled shaft installation, traffic management, and effective project scheduling. Prior experience includes adjunct instruction in Emergency Medical Services at the College of Central Florida and a role as a firefighter and paramedic for the Marion County Board – County Commissioners. James holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Central Florida and certifications as a Firefighter I & II from Florida State Fire College.
