Macarena Pozo Morales is a CNIO Friends Postdoctoral fellow at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) since January 2024, specializing in the Transformation and Metastasis group. Previously, Macarena completed a PhD at Université libre de Bruxelles in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, focusing on starvation-induced hepatic steatosis from January 2020 to May 2023. Prior research experience includes a Master Thesis in Neurobiology at Universidad de Málaga, investigating dopaminergic D4 receptor effects on cocaine in the caudate putamen, and a Graduate Research Internship in Endocrinology at IBIMA, studying the modulation of GPR55 in Type 1 Diabetes. Additional internships include work at the University of Oxford on Niemann-Pick Type C disease and research on pharmacogenetics in kidney transplantation at Universidad de Málaga. Macarena Pozo Morales holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a Master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Universidad de Málaga.
