Sara García Alonso

Sara García Alonso is a highly experienced scientist currently serving at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) since March 2019, with a focus on cancer research as a postdoctoral research scientist. Sara is also a member of the ESA Astronaut Reserve since November 2022. Prior experience includes roles as a graduate student researcher and research assistant at various institutions, contributing to significant projects on cancer therapies and mechanisms of resistance. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biosciences from Universidad de Salamanca and a Master's degree from Universidad de León, complemented by an executive programme in business from IE University. Sara has received multiple fellowships and scholarships supporting research initiatives in fundamental biology and biomedicine.
