Chris Smith

Chris Smith is a highly experienced technology professional with a diverse background in security research, software engineering, and blockchain technology. Currently serving as Lead Security Researcher at Spearbit Labs since October 2023, Chris also operates as a Protocol Engineer, Security Researcher, and Consultant at Left Hand Cypher LLC, specializing in engineering services, security reviews, and system design. Previous roles include Tech Lead and Senior Software Engineer at Handshake, Senior Smart Contract Engineer at MakerDAO, and Blockchain and Backend Lead at ConsenSys. Chris began a career in technology after completing a BA/MA in International Studies and Russian Language and Literature from the University of Denver and has undergone extensive training in software development and blockchain engineering. Experience includes building WordPress websites as the owner of Zenio and implementing technology initiatives for Governor John Hickenlooper.
