Cody Thomas is a senior consultant at SpecterOps. Previously, they were a senior cyber security engineer at MITRE from October 2016 to October 2018. There, they were responsible for identifying CMAS quality attribute requirements from a variety of technical documents, reviewing and contributing to the STRIDE threat analysis of the CMAS operational mission thread, identifying security implications of steps in the CMAS adoption framework, and developing threat model diagrams for the CMAS adoption framework.
Prior to their time at MITRE, Cody was a graduate research assistant at the Software Engineering Institute from June 2012 to November 2012, where they again worked on identifying CMAS quality attribute requirements from a variety of technical documents, reviewing and contributing to the STRIDE threat analysis of the CMAS operational mission thread, identifying security implications of steps in the CMAS adoption framework, and developing threat model diagrams for the CMAS adoption framework.
Before their work in academia and research, Cody interned at Samsung Electronics as a system on a chip intern from July 2011 to August 2011. Cody also worked as a computer engineering tutor at the University of Texas at Austin from August 2009 to June 2012. And finally, they were an assistant at MediaJaw from May 2007 to August 2007.
Cody Thomas completed a Master of Science in Information Security Technology and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. They also have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. They are certified from Cisco in CCNA, and from SANS Institute in GAWN, GCED, GCIH, GPEN, and GSEC. They are also certified from Offensive Security in OSCP.
