Carmen Márquez

LEAD Fellow at Sphinx Organization

Carmen Márquez currently serves as a LEAD Fellow at the Sphinx Organization since December 2022, participating in a leadership program aimed at empowering arts leaders of color. During a tenure as Director of Education at Harmony Project from November 2023 to October 2024, Carmen provided leadership for programming supporting approximately 1,100 students and facilitated artistic vision plans across multiple community sites. Previous experience includes a lengthy role at Pacific Symphony from September 2015 to October 2023, where Carmen progressed from Violin Instructor to Program Manager, leading initiatives to provide free after-school instruction to underserved communities. Other roles include serving as an LGBTQ+ Mentee at Tent Partnership for Refugees and as a Violin Instructor at multiple organizations. Carmen holds a Master of Music in Violin Performance from California State University, Long Beach, and advanced certificates in NonProfit Management from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
