Nicholas J. Valeriani

Mr. Valeriani is the retired chief executive officer of the Gary and Mary West Health Institute, an independent, nonprofit medical research organization whose mission is to enable seniors to successfully age in place with access to high quality, affordable health and support services that preserve and protect their dignity, quality of life and independence. Prior to West Health, Mr. Valeriani enjoyed a 34-year career with Johnson and Johnson. During his tenure with Johnson and Johnson, Mr. Valeriani held numerous leadership positions in engineering, manufacturing, sales and marketing. He served as a member of its executive committee in the positions of Vice President, Human Resources; Worldwide Chairman, Medical Devices and Diagnostics; and Vice President, Office of Strategy and Growth.

He currently serves on the board of directors of Edwards Lifesciences Corp., RTI Surgical, Inc., Roka Biosciences, Inc. and AgNovos Healthcare. Mr Valeriani received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from Rutgers University. Valeriani’s background in the global medical device industry, and his leadership experiences in the areas of general management, strategy and Human Resources, provides the board of directors with valuable expertise.
