Herbert Walberg is a distinguished academic and public policy advocate with extensive experience in education and literacy. Since August 1995, Walberg has served as a Distinguished Visiting Fellow with the Koret Task Force on K-12 Education at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, while also holding the position of Board Chair at the Heartland Institute and Beck Foundation, focusing on public policy and children's literacy. Walberg is an Emeritus University Scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where involvement has spanned from 1970 to the present. Previous academic experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor at Harvard University from 1966 to 1969. Walberg earned a PhD in Psychology and Education from the University of Chicago between 1960 and 1964.
