Catherine Xu

Catherine Xu is a Co-Founder of Starlight, a company focused on fostering financial wellness and access for communities in need, since January 2023. Previously, Catherine was a member of South Park Commons and a Product Fellow at Robin Hood, where work took place at Blue Ridge Labs, a public interest technology incubator. Catherine's background includes experience as a Product Manager at LinkedIn, where responsibilities included enhancing search functionalities and marketing solutions, alongside leadership of the Women in Product initiative. Catherine also served as a Course Assistant at Stanford University's School of Engineering, teaching introductory courses in human-computer interaction and engaging in research projects that led to published papers. Prior roles included producing content for WNYC Radio and various positions at Microsoft, encompassing UX research and product management. Catherine holds an M.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University, along with further education from the University of Oxford and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
