Ian Searle

Ian Searle is an experienced financial services professional with a robust background in regulatory affairs and consumer policy. Currently serving as the Director of Customer Outcomes and Director of Regulatory Affairs & Policy at Starling Bank since February 2023, Ian previously held key leadership roles at the Financial Conduct Authority from March 2018 to February 2023, including Head of Department for Consumer Policy & Outcomes, where significant initiatives such as the FCA's Consumer Duty and strategies on Open Finance and online harms were implemented. Ian's earlier experience includes managerial positions at the Bank of England focusing on structural reform and at HM Treasury where policy on SME lending and aspects of banking regulation were developed.
