Lorena Neira is the Co-founder and CEO of Blusink, where the focus is on enabling carbon offsetting to restore marine life through bioengineering of the benthic ocean floor. Currently involved as a mentor with START Global, Lorena supports emerging entrepreneurial talent and participates as an International Fellow in an acceleration program for Latin American startups. Previous experiences include leadership roles such as Leader of Tomorrow at the St. Gallen Symposium and ownership of a start-up at Blue Bio Value. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Biological Sciences and a background in climate studies and marine biology from Universidad de Los Andes, as well as research contributions on coral reef invertebrates and climate science aboard the South-North Atlantic Expedition. Prior roles also include wildlife consulting and research assistance at Cornell University, focusing on the genetic impacts of climate change on Atlantic cod populations.
