Vanessa Primus

Vanessa Primus is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in procurement and business advisory services. Currently serving as a Contracting Agent and M/WBE Liaison at SUNY New Paltz since August 2019, Vanessa is responsible for procurement operations. Prior to this role, Vanessa spent eight years at the NYS Small Business Development Center as a Certified Business Advisor, focusing on business counseling, research, and disaster recovery assistance. Vanessa also held significant positions at MTA Metro-North Railroad, including Chief Information Officer and Deputy Director of Procurement, where responsibilities included managing IT operations and overseeing procurement initiatives. Earlier career experience includes work as a Procurement Specialist at MTA New York City Transit. Vanessa holds a Master Certificate in Information Technology & Project Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Analysis from St. John's University.
