Håkon Fenstad

Håkon Fenstad has extensive experience in communications, currently serving as Kommunikasjonsdirektør at Statped since February 2022. Prior to this role, Fenstad worked at UDI for a decade as assisterende kommunikasjonsdirektør, leading a press team and managing social media and crisis communication. Fenstad has held various positions in public sector communications, including kommunikasjonsleder in Frogn kommune, where responsibilities included overseeing communication strategy and budget management. Other roles include senior kommunikasjonsrådgiver at the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research, medierådgiver at the Arbeidsdepartementet, and presserådgiver at Innovasjon Norge. Fenstad began a career in journalism at Norsk Telegrambyrå and Asker og Bærums Budstikke. Educated at the University of Oslo with a cand. polit. degree in Communication and Media Science, Fenstad also has military training from Hærens befalskole for feltartilleriet.
