Elisabet Le Roux serves as the Research Director at the Unit for Religion and Development Research (URDR) at Stellenbosch University since January 2008, leading a women-led, trans-disciplinary research unit focused on development and violence prevention through evidence-based methods. Prior to this role, Elisabet worked as an HIV Consultant and Skills Development Coordinator at Legacy Community Development Corporation from January 2008 to June 2012, managing skills development programs and staff training. Additionally, Elisabet coordinated the Hospivision Choose Life programme in the Western Cape from September 2008 to December 2009, emphasizing values-based HIV prevention. Educational achievements include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sociology from Stellenbosch University (2011-2013) and an M.Th in Practical Theology with a focus on Clinical Pastoral Care and HIV/Aids Ministry and Counselling, earned Cum Laude in 2007.
