Helmuth Reuter

Helmuth Reuter currently serves as the Executive Head of the Department of Medicine at Stellenbosch University and Tygerberg Hospital, a position held since March 2016. Reuter has been the Head of the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the Winelands Medical Research Centre since July 2007 and also holds the title of Director at the same center. Prior to these roles, Reuter was the Director of the Ukwanda Centre for Rural Health and held various leadership positions in divisions including Adult Infectious Diseases and Rheumatology at Stellenbosch University from January 1997 to July 2007. Reuter's academic credentials include a PhD from Stellenbosch University and multiple qualifications in Internal Medicine from prestigious institutions such as the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, the University of Cambridge, and the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom, as well as international recognition in tropical medicine.
