Sarel Esterhuizen

Sarel Esterhuizen is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and platform development. Currently serving as the Global Head of Technology at STX Group since January 2025, Sarel previously held multiple leadership roles at Miro, including Head of Engineering for Runtime and Operations and Head of Engineering for the Client/Frontend Platform. Sarel's career also includes significant positions at Klarna as a Senior Engineering Manager, Nomad Digital Consulting as CEO and Founder, and Amazon Web Services as a Software Development Manager. Earlier roles feature a VP of Engineering position at Barclays, where innovative digital products were developed, as well as technical leadership roles at EOH Microsoft Coastal, MyBucks, and other companies. Sarel holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Pretoria.
