Sunstar is the 911 ambulance transport service for all Pinellas County residents, employing 550 local residents, and responding to around 500 calls a day. Sunstar is also a recipient of the Florida Governor's Sterling Award, the state’s most prestigious award recognizing “role models for organizational performance excellence.”

The Emergency Medical Services Team at Sunstar Paramedics is responsible for providing life-saving emergency medical care and transportation to residents of Pinellas County. Comprised of Shift Commanders, Critical Care Nurses, Paramedics, EMTs, and Dispatchers, this team rapidly responds to 911 calls, delivers advanced medical treatment on-site and en route to healthcare facilities, and ensures the highest standards of patient care through innovation and best practices.
