Lucy Lang ’03 is the executive director of the Institute for Innovation in Prosecution at John Jay College. She began her legal career in 2006 in the Manhattan District in New York, serving in various capacities including as assistant district attorney, special counsel for policy and projects, and executive director of the district attorney’s in-house think tank, the Manhattan D.A. Academy. She has been published in Columbia Journal of Gender and Law and on prosecution.org/latestnews.
Lang graduated with high honors in political science from Swarthmore and received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she serves as a lecturer-in-law. She is an active supporter of numerous New York City-based community organizations and arts institutions.
Lang was named a 2015 Rising Star by the New York Law Journal, is a 2017 Presidential Leadership Scholar, and is a 2018 Aspen Ideas Festival Fellow.
