Awa Westerling

Awa Westerling is an experienced professional with a background in international relations and human rights advocacy. Currently serving as an Executive Officer and Case Officer at the Swedish Migration Agency since June 2013, Awa has also held the position of Vice Consul at the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai for a brief period in 2019. Prior roles include being a Union Representative at Saco from January 2015 to November 2018 and internships at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva and the Aids Legal Network in Cape Town, where Awa focused on human rights and HIV/AIDS awareness. Awa's academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Global Studies with a concentration in International Relations from the University of Gothenburg, earned between 2008 and 2011.
