Kian Varu

Kian Varu is an experienced actuarial intern currently working at Swiss Re, focusing on enhancements to Prophet Systems and supporting the rollout of an IFRS17 reserving/reporting tool for the US Life & Health business. Kian also serves as a tutor at Tutorful and leads efforts at a stealth startup in the real estate sector. Previously, Kian worked as a research assistant at the University of Bath, investigating the relationship between citations and the value of whitepapers under the supervision of Dr. Virgilio Failla. Additionally, Kian has held roles as a mathematics tutor and participated in the University of Bath Arts Scholarship Programme. Notably, Kian was a winner at the Bath Hackathon 2020 and has gained experience through a summer internship at Atkins. Kian holds a Master of Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, both from the University of Bath.
