Kaiwen Zhang

Kaiwen Zhang is a Junior Mechanical Developer at Synaptive Medical since March 2023. Previously, from September 2020 to January 2023, Kaiwen served as an Assistant Research Technologist at The Hospital for Sick Children, where a project focused on the ideation, design, simulation, prototyping, and testing of an elastographic system was led. Kaiwen also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto Engineering, instructing several courses related to engineering analysis, kinematics, dynamics, and biomechanical systems from September 2020 to April 2022. Prior experience includes a Mechanical Engineer Internship at VIA Rail Canada, where responsibilities involved technical drawings and liaising with contractors, and a Summer Research position at the University Health Network. Education includes a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, completed in September 2022, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, obtained in 2020.
