George Varghese P.Eng, PMP, is a seasoned project manager and engineer with significant expertise in the oil and gas sector. Currently serving as a Senior Project Manager/ Project Engineer at Suncor since July 2019, George has been instrumental in leading the restart of Phase III with Syncrude/Suncor, managing high-stakes projects worth between $40M to $200M through all phases including Front End Engineering Design and execution. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Associate at SEEDA.CA, focusing on engineering and business development solutions on a global scale. George's background at Suncor from 2011 to 2017 includes ascending roles such as QA/Site Engineering Manager for the $1B East Tank Farm project and Manager of Engineering for downstream and renewables. Earlier, George was a Construction Engineering Manager at Fluor Corporation, overseeing critical infrastructure for the Exxon Kearl Oil Sands Project. George holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Bangalore University.
