Karen Hunady

Karen Hunady currently serves as the Director of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations at Syros Pharmaceuticals since October 2022. Prior to this role, Karen held a similar position at Athersys from August 1999 to July 2022, where responsibilities included developing key communications for stakeholders, serving as a spokesperson for the investment community, and managing various corporate communication facets including media relations and social media. Karen's background also includes experience as an Associate Scientist at Athersys, contributing to various research projects and acquiring knowledge in diverse lab techniques. Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Science in Molecular Marine Biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite and a passion for storytelling through video production are additional strengths.
