Don Simmons

Don Simmons, MBA, has extensive experience in security management and education. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor in Business Management at Columbia College since January 2016, Don teaches courses in Crisis Management, International Business, and Cross-cultural Management. Previously, Don held the position of Executive Director of Safety, Security, and Transportation at T.D. Jakes Ministries until March 2020, and owned Acacia Security Management Services, LLC from October 2017 to March 2020. Prior roles include Director of Global Security Management at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation from August 2006 to September 2017, where responsibilities included managing security for critical infrastructure, and Security Manager at Texas Instruments from November 1991 to August 2006, overseeing a team of 100 in physical security and emergency response. Don began military service in the US Army as a Commissioned Law Enforcement Officer in the Military Police Corps from August 1985 to August 1991. Don holds an Executive MBA from The University of Texas at Dallas and a BS in Criminal Justice from The University of Texas at Arlington.
