Cynthia Haverkamp

Cynthia Haverkamp serves as the Climate Justice Coordinator at Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department since June 2022, having previously contributed as the East Sound South Regional FieldSTEM Coordinator at Pacific Education Institute. Haverkamp's expertise includes developing professional development programs for educators focused on environmental justice and sustainability, alongside skills in curriculum writing that adheres to educational standards. Prior roles encompass parks planning and communications, where Haverkamp created educational materials and newsletters about environmental and social justice. As a Highly Capable Coordinator and Teacher Leader in Steilacoom Historical School District, Haverkamp developed curriculum and guided new educators. Haverkamp earned a Master’s Degree in Transformational Leadership from Seattle University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
