Penny Carlson

Penny Carlson is a seasoned professional in clinical development operations with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as Vice President and Head of Global Clinical Development Operations at Takeda since October 2013, Penny leads a team focused on integrating data and digital capabilities to enhance clinical trial delivery and data quality. Previous positions include Vice President of Innovation & Data, Vice President of Global Development Support, and Sr. Director of Clinical Operations at Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Early career roles include Associate Director at Aileron Therapeutics, Head of Clinical Operations at TIMI Study Group, and Senior Project Director at BLCPro. Penny began the career at Pfizer, progressing from Contract Data Manager to Study Manager and has a foundational education in Mathematics, holding a BS from Allegheny College.
