Sam Blackburn

Sam Blackburn is an experienced structural engineer with a strong background in structural integrity management and project work within the oil and gas sector. Currently serving as Structural Lead at TAQA Group since October 2020, Sam Blackburn has been responsible for the topside removal of Tern Alpha, Eider Alpha, and North Cormorant, and has also held positions such as CNS Lead Structural Engineer and Structural Technical Authority for the Brae Field. Prior to TAQA Group, Sam Blackburn worked with RockRose Energy as Structural Technical Authority, and served in senior structural engineering roles at Marathon Oil Corporation, Apollo Offshore Engineering, and Prospect, gaining extensive experience in various structural projects and operations. Educated at the University of Nottingham with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Sam Blackburn's expertise is further enhanced by a series of key roles that demonstrate a robust capacity for leadership and technical authority in the field.
