Jan Brandes

Jan Brandes is a veteran investment banker with over 15 years of experience in the Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) sector. Jan is currently an advisor at Tar Heel Capital Pathfinder, a venture capital firm based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Brandes began their career at Lehman Brothers in July 2005, where they worked as an associate in the TMT Investment Banking group for three years. In October 2008, they joined Nomura International as an associate in their TMT Investment Banking group. Jan spent two years at Nomura before moving on to NOAH Advisors Ltd., where they served as Managing Director from August 2010 to May 2020. During their time at NOAH, they also served as Managing Director of the NOAH Conference, one of the premier events for tech startups in Europe.

In May 2020, Brandes left NOAH to join Tar Heel Capital Pathfinder as an advisor. In their current role, they work with startups to help them secure funding and grow their businesses.

Jan Brandes has a Masters in Economics with a focus in finance from Maastricht University.
