Jake Phelps

Jake Phelps, MA, currently serves as a Corps Member with Teach For America since June 2024. Prior experience includes various educational roles within the San Marcos Unified School District, such as Substitute Teacher, Long Term Substitute Teacher, and Site Sub from June 2022 to June 2024. Jake also worked at High Tech High as an Academic Support Teacher and Long Term Substitute Teacher from August 2021 to June 2022. Earlier career milestones include tutoring at Unlimited Learning LLC and serving as a Newcomer Teacher and Substitute Teacher within the San Marcos Unified School District. Additional experience includes multiple substitute teaching positions in other districts and roles such as Recreation Leader I at the City of San Marcos. Jake holds a Master of Arts in Learning and Teaching, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology, and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, all from the University of Redlands.
