Buddy Teevens

Buddy Teevens is Head Football Coach at Dartmouth College and a pioneer of concussion prevention. Under Teevens, Dartmouth Football won the Ivy League title in 2015, completing the season with its first national ranking in 19 years. Teevens eliminated tackling from practices in 2010 — no other college program had done so, but his team simultaneously boosted its wins and reduced its injuries afterwards. To further promote player safety, Teevens also helped spearhead the creation of the Mobile Virtual Player (MVP), a moving remote-controlled robot that human players can tackle. The MVP is now used by half of the NFL teams and 33 colleges. Recently, he was named to the NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sport. By putting the health of his athletes first, Teevens has found success both on and off the field, for his players and for the rest of the football world.
