Colette Goodyear

Colette is Director of Legal with CoLab Software Inc. She brings twenty years of legal experience working with an established multi-national technology corporation, regional and local tech scale-ups, and the venture capital community to the Board of techNL.

She graduated from Memorial University in 1988 with a degree in English and a background in computer science, then worked as a technical writer in the early years of the Newfoundland technology sector. After discovering that there was no or little legal support (or experience) for the local industry at the time, she switched to law, graduating from the University of New Brunswick Law in 1999 with the goal of providing targeted legal services to the local tech community. She articled and practiced with Benson Myles (now Benson Buffett).
