Barış Öney

Barış Öney has more than 28 years of experience in the areas of pre- and post-investment management, public offering, company acquisitions, CEO, CFO, board membership, investment banking, corporate finance consultancy, strategic/international business development management, project management and engineering. As the founding & managing partner of Globalturk Capital and the venture partner of Turkish companies, Öney provides services to Turkish companies such as obtaining capital from private equity funds or strategic investors and working as a co-investor in the company after investment. As an investment banker, Öney has managed more than 100 cross-border M&A, venture capital, public offering, privatization, due diligence and assessment projects for both large corporate groups and small and medium-sized companies. Prior to founding Globalturk Capital, Öney founded and/or managed corporate finance departments of three reputable institutions; namely Deloitte (Partner), Yapı Kredi Investment (GMY vkl) and TSKB (Director). At Turkcell, Öney served as the senior executive responsible for international strategic business and relationship development for Turkcell and Turkcell's subsidiaries. In addition to these works, Öney served as the CEO of a mobile/digital marketing and advertising company invested by a venture capital company. Öney has also been involved in many projects of companies such as P&G, Fluor Daniel, TPAO and Genel Enerji in the oil and gas and chemistry sectors as a project manager/engineer or consultant. Barış Öney graduated from TED Ankara College in 1980 and received his BS degree from METU Engineering Faculty in 1984. He received his Master's degree in 1989 from the University of Texas at Austin College of Engineering, where he studied as a Fulbright scholar. He received his Business Administration Certificate from University of Tulsa in 1990, International Corporate Finance Certificate from New York Institute of Finance in 1995 and Corporate Finance Diploma from UK ICAEW in 2007. In addition to being a member of the Tempo Call Center Board of Directors, he also serves on the Board of Directors of various institutions and professional organizations.
