Rory Alsop

Rory Alsop, FCIIS, is a seasoned professional in information security and cyber risk, currently serving as the Head of Information Security and Cyber Risk at Tesco Bank since June 2021. Alsop holds a distinguished position as a Fellow and Scottish Chair at the Chartered Institute of Information Security, having also served as Chairman of the Scottish Branch and Deputy Chair. Involved with the Information Security Forum as Deputy Chair since October 2016, Alsop contributes as a member of The Institute of Directors and as a security volunteer at DEF CON. Moderating for Security Stack Exchange and other Stack Exchange sites showcases a commitment to community engagement in security topics. Additionally, Alsop is the lead guitarist and pyrotechnician for the techno-rock band Metaltech and has contributed to the music scene since 2009. Previous roles include serving as a board member for the National Cyber Resilience Advisory Board and co-founding Security B-Sides MSP in Scotland. Alsop's educational background includes a BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from The University of Edinburgh.
