Zdenka Mansfeldová graduated in 1974 from the Faculty of Arts of Charles University (sociology and psychology), in 1988 she obtained a CSc degree. in sociology at the Faculty of Arts of Moscow State University. He has been working in various positions at the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic since 1986, now as a senior researcher. In recent years, she has held the position of Deputy Director and Head of the Sociology Department of Politics. The subject of research interest is the functioning of modern democracy and its institutions. In a comparative perspective, it deals with parliament and parliamentarism, political and non-political forms of interest representation and their transformation in the process of Europeanization, social dialogue at various levels and the social context of security risks and measures. Since 1990, she has been the researcher or co-researcher of more than 30 research projects, including international and projects funded by the EU Framework Programs (FP) and other international programs. She is the author or co-author of a number of scientific articles, chapters in books or scientific publications. She completed a number of study and lecture stays in Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, Japan and Taiwan. She is the chairwoman of the Section for Education, Science and Informatics of the Czech Commission for UNESCO.
