Cary Funk

Cary Funk is a seasoned expert in social sciences with extensive experience in survey research, experimental design, and public engagement. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor for Public Engagement with Science at The Aspen Institute, Cary Funk previously held the position of Director of Science and Society Research at the Pew Research Center, where strategic leadership and collaboration on research related to the social implications of science were key responsibilities. Additional roles include Principal at Cary Funk Research, LLC, and Associate Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, where teaching and directing various polling projects were significant duties. Cary Funk has also contributed to NBC News as an Exit Poll Analyst and has held prior academic positions at Rice University and CBS News. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and a Master's Degree in Social Psychology from UCLA, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Barnard College.
