Johnita Davis Jones

Johnita earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University in 1983. Johnita began her career in engineering as a facilities engineer with Exxon Company, U.S.A, in Louisiana. Since that time, she has worked in oil and gas engineering assignments including corrosion applications, project engineering and reservoir analysis. Johnita began her supervisory responsibilities in 1990, and has managed teams in production facility surveillance, project engineering and operations management. From 2001 to 2016, she served as Pipeline Risk and Integrity Manager for ExxonMobil Pipeline Company. In this role, she was responsible for the execution and stewardship of programs to ensure pipeline fitness for over 6,000 miles of pipe in the United States. In 2016, she became the Midstream Americas Engineering Manager. In 2019, she was appointed ExxonMobil Pipeline Company’s Vice President – Southern Operations Manager, where she served until her retirement in February 2022. Johnita currently serves on the Baylor Scott & White Holdings Board of Trustees. She previously served as Board President of the Texas Conference for Women from 2005 through 2017, an annual conference that promotes professional development opportunities for women from diverse career fields. Other community activities include participation on the Houston Children’s Museum Advisory Board and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Lighthouse of Houston. She previously served The Association of Former Students as a Representative at Large. Johnita and her husband, Bill ’81, are Century Club members and have created a Presidential Endowed Scholarship. They have three children and one grandchild.
