Maree Skillen

A member with MANSW since 1992, Maree has a broad background in K-12 education with expertise in the curriculum and pedagogical areas of mathematics, science and computing. She has taught and held leadership positions in both government and non-government schools. Currently, Maree is an academic at Western Sydney University where she works with initial teacher educators. Through this role, Maree hopes to make a difference in working with Primary teachers to encourage an enjoyment of mathematics that can be passed on to younger learners. She also wants to highlight the importance and connections mathematics has in many areas of life, and that it can also be lots of FUN!

Maree has been a member of the MANSW Executive Board in 2014-2015, and most recently from 2018. For 2022-2024, she will take on the role of MANSW Treasurer.

Maree is the current AAMT Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Risk Management (FARM) committee, previously known as the Finance committee which she joined in 2019.
