Founded in 1874, The Chicago Bar Association is one of the oldest and most active metropolitan bar associations in the United States. The Association's voluntary membership consists largely of lawyers and judges from Cook County and the State of Illinois. However, we do have a growing out-of-state membership of lawyers who want to take advantage of the Association's many membership services and benefits.

The Legal and Mediation Team at The Chicago Bar Association provides expert legal advice, mediation services, and judicial investigation support to its members. The team comprises seasoned professionals, including judges, mediators, juvenile justice experts, and young lawyers, who collaborate to offer comprehensive solutions and promote justice within the legal community. This team also engages in pro bono work and liaises with local government to ensure effective legal advocacy and community support.
