Emilie Pinkston, AICP, currently serves as the Director of Development Services for The City of Rocky Mount since August 2023. Prior to this role, Emilie worked as a Senior Planner for the City of Columbus from January 2013 to June 2023, leading various community-based land use and transportation planning initiatives, including the development of the City’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan and the Neighborhood Commercial Access and Design Study. Responsibilities included authoring long-range planning documents, conducting best practice research, and coordinating bicycle and pedestrian projects. Emilie began in the City of Columbus as an Associate Planner from September 2007 to July 2010, managing development proposals and communicating zoning regulations to the public. Emilie holds a Master of Environmental Science and Master of Public Affairs from the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (2010-2012) and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2003-2007).
