Donald Coles

Donald Coles has over 40 years of business experience in agriculture with particular expertise in the seed industry, food retailing and sustainability solutions for food supply chains. As President of the International Seed Federation Donald represented the global seed industry in interactions with the UN and FAO. During his career Donald initiated supply chain efficiencies that resulted in significant market share increases in forage, turf seed and wheat. Donald also built and later successfully completed whole business transactions in cereal, forage and turf seed companies. Creating value for consumers through plant breeding innovations has been a hallmark of his career. Donald has also worked with a major retailer to create Australia’s first Certified Carbon Neutral beef products by advising on farm production efficiencies that increase CO2 sequestration.
