James Michelle

James Michelle currently serves as an Assistant Director in the First Nations Mental Health Section of the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Division at the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, a position held since January 2019. Prior to this role, James was a Senior Policy Officer in the Suicide Prevention Section of the Mental Health Division. Earlier experience includes working as a Management Consultant in the People & Change Division at KPMG from January 2017 to December 2018. James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Commerce in Management, both obtained from The Australian National University between 2012 and 2016, and is pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the University of Canberra, expected to be completed by December 2027.
