Rebecca Ireland

Rebecca Ireland is an experienced professional in the health sector, currently serving as an Assistant Director at the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care since September 2023. With a strong background in mental health and governance, Rebecca has held key managerial roles, including Manager of System Planning and Governance at the Queensland Mental Health Commission and Regional Manager at Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast PHN. Prior experience includes managing suicide prevention initiatives at Queensland Health and various roles in public health at organizations such as Cancer Council NSW and NPS MedicineWise. Academically, Rebecca holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology from UNSW, along with postgraduate and undergraduate qualifications in research methodology and psychology from The Open University and The University of Queensland, respectively.
